5 Places Outside the USA You Must Visit

With all the fantastic landmarks, it sometimes seems like the US is a world itself when vacation time comes. From New York to California, there are numerous places in-between that can catch your fancy – but we recommend leaving the nest this vacation season to experience what the rest of the world has to offer.

Hop on a carnival cruise leaving from Florida to span a portion of the Atlantic to the Bahamas; or take a Madrid airport private transfer to experience the wonders of Spain in luxury and comfort. No matter where you head to this season, bring your camera and that special someone (or more, if you’ve got children) along for a memorable trip.

Barcelona, Spain

Exquisite architecture and natural sights make Barcelona a unique combination of the old and the new. As the site of the former Olympic Games, the city has continued to enjoy the products of the resurgence it experienced from that monumental event.

Today, millions of visitors make the trek each year to enjoy world class cuisine at restaurants such as Eva & Olga, Rudi of Pirate Cooking and Ascanio of Sense Coberts, where the Mediterranean and Fusion delights stack up against the very best dishes you’d find in your home country. As for the sights, the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia is must-visit, as is the historic Gothic Quarter and Casa Batllo.

Amalfi Coast, Italy

The Amalfi Coast is a quintessential example of the beauty that the Mediterranean has to offer. The divide between the looming mountains and the blue sea, dotted with human architecture along the coastline, is breathtaking – to say the least.

Positano is a soaring pyramid of homes and restaurants at the water’s edge, where the exquisite beauty comes at a price: you will spend if you visit this Italian town. Take a private day tour from starting from Sorrento if you want less expensive fare, or join a small group on a cruise along the Amalfi Coast.

Kruger National Park, Africa

The largest park of its kind in the world, the vast expanse of South Africa’s Kruger National Park is home to the vaunted Big 5 animals treasured by sightseers around the world. These animals are so-named because of the difficulty involved in seeing them on foot. They are the lion, rhino, elephant, leopard and buffalo – and you will be seeing most of them on a safari trip you won’t soon forget.

After your trip into the wild, you’ll get some respite at a luxury lodge at the edge of the Park, where all the amenities you’d expect at a classy hotel in a large city are available. The heat-thumping – although exceptionally safe – journey into the Kruger will prepare you for an evening of rest.

London, England

London is a treasured destination vacation to Westerners because of the cultural proximity to the United States – although the differences are significant enough to garner a sense of wonderment. Historical attractions dominate the large city, with the British Museum as a must-visit place along with the venerable Tower of London.

For your shopping escapades, check out Portobello Road Market in the plush Nottingham district – you can be there for much of the day and feel like merely an hour or so has passed. Plan a trip to Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens for the next day if you can – it measures up well to any National Park stateside.

Sydney Australia

The Land Down Under has plenty of its own treasures for vacationers, with the capital of South Wales being one of its most prominent. Of course, Sydney is known for its Opera House, which looks like it’s ready to take off for the wide open seas at any moment – part of its architectural charm.

As you can expect for an oceanside location, Sydney is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. There are so many of them, in fact; Bondi Beach and its numerous cafes, Cronulla Beach, Maroubra and Tamarama – just to name a few. As a major tourist attraction, you can bet that the shops and restaurants are up to par. Sydney, Australia is a vacation everyone should take at least once in their life.
